It' is a wonderful team building exercise, it helps all of us to consider the rewilding theme and it's fun to do!

The Museum of Architecture’s hugely popular, brilliantly festive and mouthwateringly edible The Gingerbread City® exhibition returned to London in December 2022 opening on Motcomb Street, Belgravia. This year’s exhibition presents not just one edible city but five miniature cities across five different climate zones: Polar, Continental, Temperate, Dry and Tropical.

This year, the Museum of Architecture is taking a global perspective and has challenged participating architects to design and build in one of five different climate zones. Architects will address why we need to think differently about how we build around the world, taking into account local resources, building methods and the environment in order to act on the climate crisis.

Now in its sixth year, The Gingerbread City® champions sustainable design ideas and puts an exciting twist on the traditional gingerbread house. Over 100 leading architects, land- scape architects, engineers and designers will use their building expertise and baking genius to create a gingerbread-based urban landscape that suggests a new ‘normal’ in our post- Covid world where life is less stressful, more convenient and sustainable - where goods and services are easy to get, where there is access to green space and there is choice of afford- able, adaptable housing - wherever you are in the world.

Masterplan designed by: Madeleine Kessler Architecture and Tibbalds Planning and Design.
