For Adults and Children
Sticky Toffe School
by Ashton Architects
Madeleine mansions is a recently completed apartment block mainly occupied by young families with children. Children are encouraged to skateboard or slide down the building’s sloped roof on the way to the sticky toffee school.
The shared garden areas around the building and on the roof terrace are dedicated to growing fruits and vegetables for the children’s school lunches which they grab on their way to school. This encourages the formation of a community and also teaches children to care for and grow vegetables by incorporating a play area into the vegetable garden.
